Position Overview
Barbaricum is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Philadelphia Division. This role involves analyzing Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) machinery and ship control systems, focusing on sensor and control data for various surface ship classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research, development, design, manufacturing, and testing of mechanical devices, including tools and engines.
- Work on power-generating machines such as electric generators and internal combustion engines.
- Develop machinery for power utilization, including refrigeration systems, industrial production equipment, and robotics.
- Design tools essential for engineering tasks.
- Utilize advanced computational tools for modeling, simulation, and design modifications, employing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two years of experience in writing and reviewing mechanical specifications, developing design documentation, and working within machinery control systems, preferably in HM&E environments.
