About the Role

Noblis is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Controls Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and life cycle managing complex machinery control system modernization efforts applied to US Navy and US Coast Guard Ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Perform design, development, modeling/simulation, and integration for Naval shipboard control systems applications in a lab environment.
  • Problem Analysis and Solution Design: Analyze, propose, and design solutions to problems for operational controls software.
  • Equipment Integration: Develop equipment integration designs for networking, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems), simulators/stimulators, and other test tools/systems.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement cybersecurity best practices and hardening for industrial control systems.
  • PLC Design and Programming: Create Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) designs, programs, and control algorithm developments.
  • Software Development: Develop software using Java, C#, C++, Python, and Visual Basic. Develop controls algorithms, communication interface algorithms, and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).
  • Project Management: Develop PLC program control projects and algorithms using Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal.
  • System Design: Design Industrial control systems with a specific application using Rockwell ControlLogix family of devices as well as Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 PLCs.
  • Documentation: Provide engineering for the development and maintenance of hardware and software documentation and requirements.
  • Interface Development: Develop and deploy industrial application/system user interfaces, database interfaces, device interfaces, and related analytics.
  • Network Design: Experience in creating diagrammatic representations of network topology designs and data flow using industry-standard tools such as Microsoft Visio.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in electrical or computer engineering.
  • Programming Languages: Expertise with Visual Basic, Relay Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Structured Control Language (SCL).
  • Industrial Communications: Expertise and demonstrated experience with industrial communications protocols such as EthernetIP, Profibus, Profinet, and Serial communication protocols.
  • Cybersecurity: Knowledge of best Practices with respect to cybersecurity of Industrial Control Systems.
  • Clearance: DOD Secret or the ability to obtain a DOD secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security + Certification.
  • Programming Languages: Knowledge of one or more of the following Java, C#, C++, Python.
  • Electrical Diagrams: Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams.
  • Test Tools: Proficiency in the use of test tools associated with industrial control systems.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools associated with industrial control systems troubleshooting.
