Position Summary
Barbaricum is currently seeking a Systems Engineering Specialist to assist the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Philadelphia Division in analyzing HM&E machinery and ship control systems, focusing on sensor and control data for surface ship classes. Responsibilities include conducting analytical and algorithmic software engineering, as well as providing technical, logistical, and programmatic support for the development, prototyping, implementation, and in-service support of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) data analysis.
- Develop models, architectural products, and digital artifacts for systems or System-of-Systems (SoS) in alignment with established standards and best practices.
- Utilize modeling techniques to support requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
- Ensure interoperability of systems through comprehensive support.
- Generate reports to facilitate the management of MBSE/digital environment activities and informed decision-making.
- Coordinate information and resources to achieve digital thread-related objectives.
- Promote a model-based culture, leveraging the capabilities of the organization's digital enterprise infrastructure.
- Employ model data to foster the creation of a digital thread across various engineering disciplines (e.g., cyber and configuration management).
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in designing, analyzing, implementing, optimizing, profiling, and experimentally evaluating machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with data related to industrial or maritime control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience working with large datasets and implementing machine learning models.
- Familiarity with functional programming and conducting comparative data analysis to evaluate algorithm performance.
- Proficiency in software development and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools.
- Possession of one of the following IAT-Level II Certifications: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
