Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is dedicated to supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their efforts to facilitate research, development, testing, evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service support, and fleet engineering, all while ensuring cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.

This role focuses on providing lifecycle support for fielded and future Engineering Control Systems (ECS) on various ship classes, including the Landing Platform Dock (LPD) and Landing Ship Medium (LSM).

The candidate will engage in both shipboard and Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support. The tasks will encompass all activities related to diverse Control Systems, including software development, testing, equipment harvesting, and installation on both existing vessels and those under construction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver integration and configuration management engineering support across multiple ship classes.
  2. Provide design assistance for the integration of equipment in industrial and shipboard environments, contributing technical insights for future ECS designs.
  3. Develop, derive, troubleshoot, and refine system and software requirements for upcoming fielded systems (PLC-based control systems) at both LBES and shipboard locations.
  4. Offer testing support at LBES and assist with software and hardware installations at LBES.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical or computer engineering, specifically related to control systems in industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems or willingness to undertake relevant training.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to industrial control systems.
  • Proficiency in software-based diagnostic tools associated with industrial control systems.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or other PLC systems.
  • Competence in basic computer operations, including advanced functionalities.
  • Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to edit electrical diagrams.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills within a collaborative team environment.

Additional Information:

This position requires travel of at least 20% and an onsite workload at LBES for approximately 75% of the time.
