Position Overview:
As a key member of the Wenatchee School District 246, the Nutrition Services Associate I plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food service areas. This position is primarily focused on maintaining cleanliness, assisting in food preparation, and providing support during meal service.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Lead Server to heat and prepare food items received from the central kitchen, following established guidelines.
2. Assist in the setup of both hot and cold food stations, ensuring all necessary supplies are available for service.
3. Oversee the student meal service, ensuring compliance with USDA Child Nutrition standards for reimbursable meals.
4. Manage the transfer of food and supplies to and from storage areas, maintaining organization and efficiency.
5. Operate the computerized Point of Sale system accurately.
6. Perform ware washing duties and maintain cleanliness of kitchen utensils and service wares.
7. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure adherence to sanitation regulations and standards.
8. Communicate effectively and courteously with students, staff, and kitchen personnel to foster a positive environment.
9. Suggest operational improvements and notify management of low product levels.
10. Attend mandatory meetings and participate in ongoing training as required.

Qualifications:
- Must possess or obtain a valid food handler's permit.
- Preferred experience in high-volume food service for at least one year.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to interact positively with students and staff.
- Strong record-keeping skills.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes noisy environment.
- Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and punctuality.

Work Schedule:
This position remains open until filled.

Eligible employees working 630 hours or more annually may receive health insurance benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability plans through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Retirement benefits are provided through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS). Paid leave benefits vary based on employment status and include sick leave, personal leave, holidays, and vacation days. Tuition reimbursement is available for qualified expenses, up to 50% of $450 per year. Benefits may be prorated based on the date of hire and hours worked.
