About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Research and Instruction Librarian to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Business Liaison Librarian, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with students, faculty, and staff across various departments, including the Grossman School of Business and the department of Community Development and Applied Economics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Maintain Collaborative Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff in assigned liaison areas and other areas as appropriate.
  • Provide Curricular and Co-Curricular Support: Design and deliver information literacy and research skills instruction to students, faculty, and staff, and develop instructional materials such as online tutorials and research guides.
  • Cultivate Partnerships and Collaborations: Work with faculty in assigned liaison areas to identify research and information literacy needs of majors and design library instruction and support to meet those needs.
  • Contribute to Collection Development: Collaborate with librarians and other stakeholders to develop and maintain a collection of resources that support the research and information needs of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Engage in Service Activities: Participate in service activities at the library, university, association, and community levels, and contribute to committees, working groups, teams, projects, or other initiatives that further the Libraries', the University's, and the profession's missions.
Requirements
  • Experience and/or Ability to Develop as a Research and Instruction/Teaching Librarian: Possess experience and/or the ability to develop as a research and instruction/teaching librarian, with a strong understanding of academic library services and practices.
  • Work or Educational Experience in Instruction, Reference, and/or Consulting Services: Have work or educational experience related to instruction, reference, and/or consulting services in academic libraries, with a strong understanding of information literacy and research skills instruction.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration Skills: Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills necessary for professional communication and scholarly work, and the ability to collaborate with others as part of a team.
  • Ability to Take Initiative and Manage Multiple Projects: Possess the ability to take initiative, develop and complete projects, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Potential to Develop as a Scholar and Contribute to the Field of Librarianship: Demonstrate potential to develop as a scholar and contribute to the field of librarianship, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrated Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility: Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, with an awareness and understanding of diverse thought, cultures, race, religion, gender, and other differences.
