Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator II of Special Initiatives to join our team at the University of Texas at Arlington. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall development, coordination, and implementation of the TRIO Upward Bound Program, providing outreach and case management services to students, individual advising sessions, workshops, and other project activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program strategies to increase post-secondary enrollment and retention rates of students in the target area.
  • Provide outreach and case management services, including dropout prevention, college, career, and financial aid information services to students at target schools.
  • Conduct grade-appropriate workshops and activities involving college, career, and financial aid information, PSAT-SAT-TSI-ACT test preparation, scholarship information, technical assistance with college admissions and financial aid applications, and college field trips.
  • Collect, establish, maintain, and data entry of all assigned student records and required forms.
  • Assist the Director with submission of documentation to governmental agencies and grant proposals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with two years of administrative, program coordination, or project management experience or the equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Communications, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of experience working for a dropout prevention and/or post-secondary opportunity program or the equivalent experience.
  • Experience providing direct case management services to secondary school students.
  • Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
  • Valid Class C Operator's license or higher for possible use of a UTA-owned vehicle.
