Guest Services Representative

The Front Desk Clerk plays a crucial role in embodying Sonesta's commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our guests. This position is primarily responsible for managing the front desk operations, including the check-in and check-out processes, while addressing guest inquiries and ensuring their needs are met for a memorable stay.
The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and dedicated to exceeding guest expectations.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced setting requiring adaptability.
- Position involves direct interaction with guests while stationed at the front desk.
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Flexibility to work various days of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Availability for different shifts (day, night, overnight).
- Ten to twelve-hour shifts may be necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a hotel setting is preferred.
- Warmly greet guests and provide professional service.
- Register guests, confirm their reservations, issue room keys, and inform them about hotel amenities and room locations.
- Oversee front desk operations to ensure efficient check-in and check-out.
- Process payments, post miscellaneous charges, and ensure timely delivery of final bills to guests.
- Manage guest safe-deposit boxes securely.
- Safeguard cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel policies, including room rates, discounts, and special promotions.
- Stay informed about local events and hotel offerings.
- Handle guest reservations, cancellations, and modifications as needed.
- Promote room upgrades to enhance revenue opportunities.
- Direct guests to appropriate hotel staff for assistance with various services.
- Address guest requests with professionalism and courtesy.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Strong verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, particularly in challenging situations.
- Excellent organizational capabilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Opera systems is advantageous.
- Commitment to ensuring guest satisfaction.
