The Guest Services Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the Guest Services team. This role is crucial in ensuring a professional, secure, and positive atmosphere for both staff and guests. The Supervisor must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. Collaboration with the Housekeeping Management team is essential, and cross-training in related areas is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Front Desk operations.
- Engage in the Manager on Duty Program.
- Maintain and oversee guest room inventory.
- Recruit and train staff; create schedules for the Front Desk team to ensure adequate coverage.
- Assist in formulating departmental budgets and ensure compliance with approved financial plans.
- Supervise Front Desk staff during shifts and support other department managers in their absence; mentor and develop Supervisors and team members; address and resolve guest concerns effectively.
- Ensure adherence to cash handling policies and procedures.
- Participate in leadership meetings and lead departmental meetings.
- Assist in conducting weekly safety checks and uphold service excellence standards. Coordinate with group leaders regarding arrivals, departures, and luggage handling.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring a commitment to exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
- Proficient computer skills are essential, along with the ability to work flexible hours (day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays) while consistently providing professional, friendly, and engaging service.
- Relevant experience in hospitality or equivalent education and experience is required.
- Strong command of the English language is necessary, including reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed but straightforward written or verbal instructions.
- The role requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
