Audiovisual & Event Support Specialist:

The Event Production Team, a part of the IT division at Expedia Partner Solutions, is dedicated to delivering exceptional value to both internal and external global events.

We are seeking a new team member:
a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a passion for audiovisual technology.

The ideal candidate is confident and knowledgeable in the audiovisual domain, eager to learn and implement new technologies while ensuring the existing inventory is well-maintained.


Key Responsibilities:

You will promptly and accurately diagnose system-related issues, distinguishing between hardware, software, and network problems, and collaborate with other IT operations/engineering teams to provide solutions.

You will take ownership of technology related to events and executive meetings, leading problem resolution efforts among various parties to address incidents and challenges.

You will integrate and optimize audio, video, lighting, and staging to achieve the highest quality standards. Must be able to identify risks, ask pertinent questions, and escalate issues as necessary.

You will develop and maintain support documentation for use by all levels of support personnel, sharing knowledge with team members on processes and workflows.

You will be expected to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and communicate effectively with all levels of seniority. You will manage vendor estimates and labor costs, as well as technical resource scheduling for equipment and personnel.

You will collaborate with other teams within Expedia Partner Solutions, such as product and marketing, in planning and executing events onsite.

You will assist clients with meeting planning and walkthroughs, providing supporting documentation and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Some shift work may be required, and flexibility for weekends is necessary for certain projects, which may involve travel to other locations for event support and production delivery alongside team members.


Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as an Audiovisual Technician. Proficient in video conferencing hardware and software (codecs and infrastructure). Experience in the technical event production/broadcast environment.

Comprehensive understanding of signal flow, capable of performing root cause analysis on the spot, and able to read and create line diagrams.

Familiar with live audio (broadcast or front of house) and acoustic principles, understanding sound behavior and optimizing audio. Knowledgeable and interested in video and audio editing software.

Capable of actively recommending effective courses of action, communicating resolutions, policies, and procedures to various IT partners, management, and end-users.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver results in a timely, reliable, and accurate manner. Ability to produce reports against service levels and key metrics. Experience working on medium to large projects and delivering within deadlines. Strong organizational, communication, and technical skills with a robust customer service orientation.

Self-managed and a self-starter with a positive attitude, able to establish good relationships with other support team members and business partners.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering at an advanced level. Working knowledge across all IT disciplines including hardware, software, and network. Proven time management and delegation skills.

Dynamic, innovative, and capable of earning the respect and high-level trust required by the help desk and IT teams for success in this role.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote teams in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, adaptable to change, and possessing a growth mindset.
