POSITION SUMMARY FOR RESOURCE SPECIALIST TEACHER:

Become a vital member of our team at ICEF Public Schools as a Resource Specialist Teacher. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that supports students with diverse learning needs. Our integrated approach involves collaboration with educators, mental health professionals, and various service providers to ensure the effectiveness of our inclusive educational programs. We prioritize the professional growth of our educators through ongoing coaching and training, recognizing that their development is essential for enhancing student success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct students with unique learning requirements
  • Create comprehensive lesson plans and instructional outlines
  • Deliver both individual and group educational sessions
  • Design tailored educational programs to address specific student needs
  • Oversee the implementation of accommodations for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Support student evaluation and program development
  • Document and assess student advancement
  • Engage in communication with parents and educational staff
  • Employ effective behavior management techniques
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree is mandatory; Master's Degree is preferred
  • Valid teaching credential is required
  • Experience in urban educational settings is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Reliable transportation is necessary
  • Required clearances must be obtained

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized, self-driven, and capable of working autonomously in a variety of situations. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, and proficiency in operating relevant educational tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Frequent local travel may be necessary, with physical demands associated with school environments. The position is typically performed under stable temperature conditions, with some potential exposure to safety risks.

Mandatory:

Bachelor's Degree

Mild to Moderate Education Specialist Credential

Preferred:

Master's Degree in Special Education

Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver's License

Clearances:

Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance, TB Clearance
