We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adapted Physical Education Specialist to join our team at Total Education Solutions. As an Adapted PE Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement adapted physical education programs that cater to diverse needs and abilities.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Design and deliver lessons that promote physical fitness, gross motor skills, and sports and games achievement.
- Provide individualized instruction and adapt activities to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Establish a safe and orderly learning environment that promotes social and emotional growth.
- Manage PE inventory and maintain equipment as needed.
- A valid California credential in Physical Education with authorization in Adapted Education or enrollment in a program with a waiver from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Appropriate automobile insurance with liability coverage.
- Clear background check through the FBI and DOJ.
- Current TB Test.
As an Adapted PE Teacher, you will work in a dynamic and varied environment, including classrooms, clinics, and homes. You will be expected to manage moderate to loud noise levels and physical demands may vary.
