Overview
As a key member of the environmental services team, the Facility Maintenance Attendant is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and sanitation within the healthcare facility. This role involves working during evening shifts and on weekends, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Position Overview:

ROLE SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Manager and Administrative Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance Attendant upholds the cleanliness of the hospital and its properties. Responsibilities include deep cleaning, floor maintenance, and routine housekeeping tasks, alongside special projects and individual requests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidates must possess the capability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to execute the following tasks:
  • Thoroughly cleans all surfaces, including furniture, beds, bathrooms, windows, and walls, adhering to safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Conducts floor refinishing, including scrubbing and applying finishes.
  • Responds to routine requests via pager.
  • Shampoos carpets and upholstery as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety procedures and material handling.
  • Handles the disposal and storage of hospital equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains and cleans curtains and window treatments.
  • Performs wet and dry mopping of various areas within the facility.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks are considered supplementary to the primary responsibilities listed above:
  • Collects and disposes of waste and soiled linens in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Monitors the condition of hospital property and equipment, reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One (1) year of experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role within a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment.
