Overview

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Manager and Administrative Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance Attendant is tasked with upholding the cleanliness of the hospital and its properties. This includes extensive cleaning tasks such as floor refinishing, carpet shampooing, and general housekeeping duties.

Key Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following essential functions:
  • Thoroughly cleans all surfaces in the environment, including furniture, beds, bathrooms, windows, and more, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Refinishes and maintains floors, utilizing machine scrubbing and floor stripping techniques.
  • Responds to routine requests while on duty, maintaining communication through a pager system.
  • Shampoos and spot cleans carpets and upholstery as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety procedures, including universal precautions and material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Handles the disposal, transfer, or storage of hospital equipment and supplies.
  • Manages the cleaning and maintenance of cubicle curtains and other fabric treatments.
  • Conducts wet mopping and cleaning of various areas including rooms, hallways, and offices.
Additional Duties:
The following tasks are considered secondary to the primary responsibilities:
  • Collects and disposes of waste and soiled linens following safety guidelines.
  • Maintains and reports on the condition of hospital property and equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • One year of experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role within a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment is preferred.
