The Personnel Security Specialist II plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the AOC Personnel Security Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts security intake processing by receiving, reviewing, analyzing, and processing personnel security documentation.
  • Regularly monitors the AOC centralized portal system to track the progress of applicant requests for congressional credentials, background checks, and federal drug screenings.
  • Coordinates pre-employment drug testing schedules.
  • Handles data entry tasks related to personnel security procedures.
  • Manages administrative functions concerning congressional credential oversight.
  • Processes requests for additional information regarding security packages and follows up on received correspondence.
  • Responds to general inquiries related to security processing and escalates complex issues to the appropriate Personnel Security Specialist.
  • Provides technical guidance to applicants completing their congressional security documentation.
  • Prepares memoranda, reports, and other reference materials.
  • Advises the Personnel Security Specialist when candidates fail to submit the requested information.
  • Conducts necessary research, information gathering, and analysis to compile relevant personnel security information into comprehensive case summaries.
  • Ensures the protection of sensitive information, including Privacy Act Protected Information, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Classified National Security Information.
  • Assists with additional personnel security tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical, executive-level government officials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

Minimum/General Experience:

  • The Personnel Security Specialist II must possess a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and maintain it throughout the contract duration.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Personnel Security is required, with a preference for six (6) years.

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma
