POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer (PE) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience to support Project Managers (PM) in overseeing subcontractors and suppliers for various projects. The role involves collaboration with the Superintendent to ensure that all contracted tasks are performed in alignment with company policies, including adherence to contract specifications, budget management, scheduling, safety protocols, quality assurance, and client satisfaction. This position requires on-site engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Project Managers in project execution and effectively communicate with stakeholders including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Engage in the design development process to optimize construction methods, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Establish and monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations on all job sites to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the submittal process, manage change orders, and ensure contract adherence.
  • Foster effective relationships to promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Provide cost estimates for changes in project scope.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or construction management is preferred.
  • Experience in design-build and job site operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as blueprints and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction practices is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ability to negotiate and track change orders effectively.
  • Capacity to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel and Project Management software.
