Job Summary:
As a Controls Automation Specialist, you will provide engineering support to our Facilities group, troubleshoot PLC control issues, enhance program development and management, and innovate new manufacturing methods within the casting sector. Your role will involve:

  • Advancing and refining manufacturing processes through the application of automated systems.
  • Creating methods to ensure that equipment computer, PLC, and HMI programs are consistently updated.
  • Collaborating with Maintenance personnel to identify root causes of control-related failures.
  • Fostering a foundational understanding of advanced controls troubleshooting within the Maintenance department.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a solid grasp of computer programming and software development.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and conduct complex system tests.
- Exhibit creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Document electrical designs, schematics, and drawings using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish new control methods that meet operational needs.
- Interpret the control requirements of mechanical designs.
- Develop electrical and control standards for new equipment.
- Research supplier products to find optimal solutions for existing challenges.
- Assist Production engineering in resolving quality issues related to control capabilities.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and enhance productivity.
- Participate in the commissioning of new equipment.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with all organizational levels and external customers.
- Ensure regular and reliable attendance at work.
- Provide manufacturing engineering insights by addressing inquiries and requests.
- Guide technicians in completing design and development projects.
- Ensure accurate definition and maintenance of all equipment controls.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Be open to working flexible hours.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSEE preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for investment casting experience.
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming is essential.
- Experience in configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems.
- Familiarity with Motion Control and Vision systems; robotics experience is a plus.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
