Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automated Screw Machine Specialist to join our team at Nesco Resource. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Acme Gridley Screw Machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and Operation: Set up and operate one or more Acme Gridley Screw Machines to produce parts according to print specifications.
  • Tooling and Maintenance: Install collets, pushers, gears, cams, tool holders, and other tooling required to machine parts. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling to prevent damage and loss.
  • Quality Control: Verify conformance of first-piece production to print specifications using proper measuring instruments. Inspect parts to ensure they meet print requirements.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the floor around the machine. Follow all safety rules and procedures, and report any unsafe conditions or actions to a supervisor.
  • Training and Development: Instruct and assist co-workers as needed. Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 years of previous experience in setting up and operating Acme Gridley Screw Machines.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of tooling and attachments, including dovetail forms, floating shave, knee tools, knurling, tapping, thread rolling, accelerated reaming, and recess and pick-off attachments. Ability to read blueprints and use inspection tools. Basic math skills required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and stand for up to 10 hours.
