Environmental Compliance Associate Manager

Location: Hybrid role with flexibility for remote work

Role Overview:

The Environmental Compliance Associate Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of environmental permits related to Land and Environmental Management, focusing on Air Quality and Hazardous Materials Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the permit coordinator, managing approximately 1000 permits issued by various environmental agencies. This includes reviewing and processing fees for minor air quality sources, Title V facilities, LNG air permits, and more. Regularly communicate with Environmental Field Specialists to address permit status and resolve discrepancies.
  2. Collaborate with Environmental Field Specialists to ensure the timely completion and submission of around 100 annual emission inventory reports to local air districts.
  3. Travel to the office 1-2 days a week to handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring efficient communication and documentation.
  4. Coordinate the annual payment of significant compliance obligations, including complex invoices exceeding $4 million.
  5. Provide general support for special projects as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Manager of Air Quality, Environmental Management & Programs, with additional reporting to other program managers as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing Environmental Compliance permits and contracts.
  • Proven track record in contract management.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and SAP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong administrative skills, including fee payment tracking and records management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing work demands.
