About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational plans for completing projects, monitor progress, and resolve operational problems.
  • Design, coordinate, and maintain facilities mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, controllers, and other equipment.
  • Support the operation of facilities mechanical systems, including centrifugal fans, burners, cooling/heating coils, pumps, and air compressors.
  • Manage and maintain documentation for the site's mechanical systems and communicate critical updates to site system operators.
  • Update, review, and control electrical and mechanical drawings as needed from design through equipment acceptance.
  • Assure that building mechanical systems meet capacity and reliability requirements of the customer.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, scope of works, budgets, and project E-Flow to support plant-wide projects.
  • Implement new engineering strategies and technologies to replace facilities equipment and systems at their end of life.
  • Train FAC associates on enhancements to operations related to mechanical/electrical systems and provide support on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
  • 4-year B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0-6 years of experience developing, coordinating, and managing mechanical and/or facility-related projects.
  • Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial mechanical systems from concept through final design and implementation, as well as troubleshooting and repair.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, customer focus, and Microsoft Office capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, comprehend technical drawings and specifications, and plan and execute special projects and reporting.
  • Experience with Control Systems Architecture and Programming.
  • Ability to balance the wants/needs of the customer department with facilities equipment requirements.
  • Knowledge of Project Flow, Budgeting, and Cost Reporting, along with Project Tracking to confirm Project Targets are Achieved.
  • Knowledge of Equipment Reliability Systems (PM's, Equipment Monitoring, MTTR/MTBF Tracking, EOL Evaluation, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel for department reviews and business planning events.
