Position Overview: Engage in a diverse range of production assembly, development, and repair/refurbishment tasks on intricate mechanical and electronic systems. This role encompasses both mechanical and electrical wiring activities, including the precise fitting and alignment of components to stringent tolerances utilizing suitable hand and power tools. Outdoor work may be required as necessary. Provide instruction and training to colleagues in similar or lower classifications regarding processes and equipment operations. Proficiently interpret engineering drawings, schematics, connection diagrams, parts lists, and informal documentation such as engineering sketches and notes.
Shift Requirements: Positions are primarily for the second shift (evening), but flexibility to work any shift is essential should schedule adjustments and workload redistribution be necessary.
Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance following the commencement of employment. Eligibility for a security clearance necessitates U.S. Citizenship.
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Experience in complex electro-mechanical assembly tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Capability to maintain precise records.
- Propose and implement enhancements for equipment and processes related to current production operations.
- Evaluate existing production equipment and process challenges while recommending corrective measures.
- Competence in interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints), sketches, and both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to document processes in the form of written instructions (manufacturing instructions, process guidelines, development worksheets, harness boards, tooling, fixturing, and special process instructions).
- Capacity to obtain and sustain necessary certifications.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in a collaborative team setting.
- Familiarity with MRP/SAP systems.
- Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in soldering (IPC J-STD-100).
- A&P certification.
- ASE certification.
