Position Overview:

The Patient Access Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients within the healthcare system. This position is available across multiple states, offering both part-time and full-time shifts with a rotating schedule.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in customer service or within a medical office setting.
  • Proficiency in data entry and typing skills, with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained.
  • Accurately gather and update patient demographic information.
  • Schedule appointments, conduct medical necessity assessments, and provide estimates for out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance patient flow and service delivery.
  • Provide training and support to staff, engage in cross-training, and participate in quality assurance evaluations.
  • Address and resolve issues, escalating them as necessary, while fostering a positive and professional atmosphere.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, manage referrals, and ensure precise patient registration.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives and adapt to evolving healthcare policies.
