Position Overview:

Join Raytheon Technologies as we redefine the future of aviation. We are on the lookout for a dedicated Investment Casting Product Engineer to join our Advanced Castings team. This role is pivotal in the development of cutting-edge tooling and casting mold designs for both commercial and military turbine engine components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects focused on the development, casting, and delivery of components that meet customer specifications.
  • Ensure the consistency and effectiveness of mold designs to enhance process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Process Modeling team to simulate and refine casting methodologies.
  • Work alongside various design teams to incorporate foundry-specific features into CAD designs for tooling release.
  • Oversee tooling design, production, and procurement activities.
  • Advance technologies related to tooling and laboratory support fixtures to bolster manufacturing processes.
  • Guarantee that final products meet dimensional and metallurgical standards as per customer expectations.
  • Utilize statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize throughput.
  • Coordinate activities with Process Engineers and Operations Managers.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of cast components produced.
  • Analyze production processes to minimize non-conformances and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for lead time reduction, cost savings, and process enhancements.
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to access restrictions on program-related information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Experience with nickel alloys and single crystal casting processes.
  • Knowledge of gating and mold design for single crystal airfoils.
  • Proficiency in interpreting product and tooling electronic definitions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing tooling for cast/core products and associated quality assurance/control measures.
  • Hands-on experience with investment casting wax injection molding and related processes.
  • Full proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems, particularly NX.
  • Adept at working in a laboratory environment with a diverse team of skilled operators and engineering professionals.
