Overview:

The Culinary Arts Internship Program offers aspiring chefs the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a prestigious culinary environment. Interns will engage in food preparation for various dining experiences, including banquets and seasonal events, while also receiving foundational training in pastry arts. This program is structured to guide participants towards a successful career in the culinary field. Learn from the expertise of Michelin Star Executive Chef, Laurent Pillard.

Internship Rotation:

At Charlotte Country Club, we strive to provide our interns with a comprehensive exposure to diverse culinary operations. Interns will participate in both formal and informal dining settings, assisting with weddings, corporate events, cocktail receptions, and committee gatherings. The rotation will encompass all culinary departments, including:
  • Banquet Preparation
  • Menu Development
  • Line Cooking
  • Pastry Arts
  • Inventory Management
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals for dining services and special events.
  • Utilize food production equipment following safety guidelines.
  • Adhere to standard recipes while preparing items for banquet service.
  • Assist in the presentation and plating of dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of preparation and serving areas.
  • Practice safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality at all times.
  • Deliver exceptional service to members and colleagues through culinary excellence and teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Culinary Arts program.
  • A collaborative spirit and positive demeanor are essential.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation, cooking, and serving techniques.
  • Understanding of nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Work Schedule:

This is a full-time seasonal internship, typically requiring 35-40 hours per week. Availability for evening and weekend shifts is essential, along with potential daytime and holiday hours.
