As a Custodial Services Representative with the El Monte City School District, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school sites. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, as well as cleaning windows, counters, and walls.
- Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of school grounds, including emptying trash and recycling receptacles, and picking up paper and debris.
- Facilities Support: Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including fixing broken furniture and equipment, and reporting any safety hazards or concerns.
- Restroom Maintenance: Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, mirrors, and toilets, and restock supplies as needed.
- Special Events: Assist with setup and cleanup for special events and meetings, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior custodial experience preferred, but not required.
- Licenses and Certificates: Valid California driver's license required.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The successful candidate must also be able to operate and maneuver demanding equipment, such as floor polishers and carpet cleaners.
