Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional to join our team as an Accounting Bureau Chief. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage the accounting function and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to department managers and staff on accounting and financial matters.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of accounting and fiscal management experience, including 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and state and federal regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and make sound recommendations.
