The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Auditor 2 to join our team in the Operations Services Division, Internal Controls and Compliance Bureau in Helena.

About the Role

As an Auditor 2, you will be responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services to add value and improve the effectiveness of department operations and internal controls. You will conduct audits and audit-related services to various divisions of the department, including internal audits of financial and operational work processes, agreed-upon and attestation procedures engagements, and reviews of internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits and audit-related services to ensure compliance with contractual and departmental procedures
  • Review and examine internal controls to ensure their effectiveness
  • Conduct desk reviews of financial and A-133 audit reports prepared by private auditors
  • Develop and implement audit plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Provide recommendations to management to improve internal controls and departmental operations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Two years of directly related experience
  • Proven work experience as an auditor preferred
  • Excellent analysis and data reporting skills
  • High-level interpersonal skills
