As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our institutions. Your responsibilities will encompass enforcing facility rules, ensuring order, and responding effectively to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce facility regulations and protocols to maintain a secure environment.
  • Monitor inmate activities and behavior to prevent disturbances or incidents.
  • Respond promptly and decisively to emergency situations, ensuring the safety of inmates and staff.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports documenting observations, incidents, and actions taken.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow officers, supervisors, and other personnel to maintain a harmonious and secure facility.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Completion of a police training course approved by the New Jersey Police Training Commission, demonstrating proficiency in firearm handling.
  • Ability to pass state-mandated firearms qualification requirements and quarterly requalification for specialized units (SWAT, SERT).
  • Successful completion of a thorough medical and psychological examination conducted by the appointing authority.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
  • A commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining professional conduct.
