Role Overview:

We are seeking a General Line Sales Account Executive to join our team.


In this role, you will be tasked with driving sales and service activities for our Customer Center across a designated territory.

Your responsibilities will include quoting, strategizing, prospecting, and nurturing relationships to meet revenue goals, enhance profitability, increase market presence, and maintain customer loyalty while achieving organizational objectives.

This position uniquely combines support for a major distributor with direct sales to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation - Responsible for driving sales of equipment, service contracts, and service offerings to our direct end users and partners within a specified customer base.

Expand existing client relationships and secure new competitive accounts to enhance Ingersoll Rand's market presence. Design and provide compressed air solutions to meet industrial customer requirements. Products include compressed air equipment, accessories, turnkey installations, service contracts, parts, service, rental equipment, and energy audits. Stay updated on product knowledge, industry standards, and necessary training. Implement strategies for continuous improvement and exceed customer satisfaction. Meet all assigned sales targets.


Developing Team Capabilities - Offer training in sales techniques and product/service knowledge for dealer sales personnel and customer center staff as needed.

Collaborate with the services team to understand products and services thoroughly, ensuring customer needs are met and anticipated.

Financial Management - Ensure all orders are processed accurately with the correct customer documentation. Resolve any customer disputes promptly. Manage all costs related to sales efforts, including travel and entertainment expenses.


Adhere to safety protocols (vehicle safety, customer site safety) both in the field and at the customer center.

Foster customer loyalty through cross-functional collaboration. Leverage the best support for clients by partnering with the service team to troubleshoot issues or provide unique solutions.

Maintain the Customer Relationship Management database, documenting face-to-face interactions, assets, agreements, contacts, and opportunities within the order management system. Track order follow-up activities and reporting requirements. Provide insights on market conditions. Responsible for managing and tracking the sales pipeline for all account activities and daily reporting.

Essential Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an industrial sales environment.

Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred.

Travel & Work Requirements:
Regular travel to customer locations is required within the assigned territory.

A valid driver's license is necessary, with no major or frequent traffic violations.

Core Competencies:
Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities. Ability to establish and nurture solid relationships with customers, key institutions, and team members. Honest, self-motivated, and team-oriented. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Mechanical and electrical expertise is essential. Ability to assess customer needs, analyze and interpret data, perform basic equipment performance calculations, and recommend technical solutions. Proficient with technology; knowledge of Salesforce is preferred. Proven business and sales acumen, including the ability to prospect accounts, navigate customer organizations effectively, value sell, and secure competitive accounts. Strong prioritization and time management skills are required.

Compensation:
The total pay range for this role, including incentive opportunities, is competitive and takes into account various factors, including skills, experience, training, and organizational needs.
