Phlebotomist II Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients and preparing them for lab testing. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collections.
- Prepare blood specimens for lab testing by labeling, centrifuging, and splitting them as required.
- Enter patient registration and test order information into our lab technology systems.
- Collect payments from patients and manage cash handling responsibilities.
- Perform departmental-related clerical duties, such as data entry and inventory management.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Minimum two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day.
- Committed to all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Superior customer focus and ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states).
