Job Title: Quality Engineer II

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Quality Engineer II to join our team. As a Quality Engineer II, you will be responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of quality technicians in monitoring product quality to ensure compliance with all applicable UL, CSA, and special customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the work performed by quality technicians, establishing and directing daily activities, assigning projects, and monitoring progress.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable ISO, UL, CSA, Industry, and special customer requirements.
  • Responsible for daily application of the Quality Management System, including Corrective Action System, Document Control, Calibration, Training, etc.
  • Lead quality improvement efforts using problem-solving tools to resolve quality issues and achieve stable and predictable process results.
  • Assist in the development of projects relative to error proofing, process aids, and continuous improvement.
  • Collect and analyze production and defect data to perform various quality-related studies.
  • Assist in the training and development of personnel relative to defect root cause analysis.
  • Work in various software platforms, including SAP, Advaris, QCBD, etc.
  • Create Quality Test Plans in Advaris.
  • Work with suppliers on quality issues.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to manufacturing departments in resolving quality problems.
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing processes that assure product quality through researching manufacturing methods and statistical analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or physical sciences.
  • ASQ CQE or ability to obtain ASQ CQE within two years.
  • 3-7 years of quality experience demonstrating initiative, detail orientation, technical skills, and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel experience, is required.
  • ISO 9001:2015 training is a plus.
  • SAP, UL, CSA, and Lean experience is a plus.
