Job Summary

The School of Engineering Education at Purdue University invites applications for a full-time, academic year continuing lecturer position. The candidate will join the team of instructors of the First-Year Engineering Program and work closely with faculty and staff at the School of Engineering Education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach foundational courses in the first-year engineering program, including ENGR Transforming Ideas to Innovation I, ENGR Transforming Ideas to Innovation II, and ENGR Transforming Ideas to Innovations I & II.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for FYE courses.
  • Assist with curriculum development and other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise students or entry-level employees.

Requirements

  • M.S. or PhD degree in an engineering or closely related field, or MBA with an engineering BS.
  • Experience teaching engineering courses at the university/college level.
  • Experience mentoring teams of students working on engineering design projects.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with student-centered, active learning pedagogies.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for student success.
