Job Summary
The School of Engineering Education at Purdue University invites applications for a full-time, academic year continuing lecturer position. The candidate will join the team of instructors of the First-Year Engineering Program and work closely with faculty and staff at the School of Engineering Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach foundational courses in the first-year engineering program, including ENGR Transforming Ideas to Innovation I, ENGR Transforming Ideas to Innovation II, and ENGR Transforming Ideas to Innovations I & II.
- Develop and implement curriculum for FYE courses.
- Assist with the development of multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary undergraduate programs.
- Supervise students and entry-level employees.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD degree in an engineering or closely related field, or MBA with an engineering BS.
- Experience teaching engineering courses at the university/college level.
- Experience mentoring teams of students working on engineering design projects.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with student-centered, active learning pedagogies.
- Enthusiasm for student success.
