Position Overview

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing patient registration, charge entry, discharge processes, and point of service (POS) collections at our facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and register patients, clearly communicating payment policies and insurance details prior to registration. Ensure to gather necessary insurance and demographic information. In cases of patient distress, promptly involve medical staff and direct medical inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Facilitate the discharge process for patients, accurately documenting and entering all charges and payments while maintaining precise medical records and financial data in compliance with POS collection policies.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling, including verification and management of cancellations and no-shows, while ensuring the correct identification of appointment types.
  • Compile daily summaries of payments, charges, outstanding balances, and claim adjustments.
  • Handle all incoming calls to the facility, providing information and assistance as needed, and redirecting calls when necessary.
  • Support clinical staff with clerical tasks and assist in preparing patients for their appointments.
  • Manage daily transaction deposits and maintain organized medical records.
  • Assist in inventory management and ensure the office is stocked with necessary supplies for efficient operations.
  • Process incoming mail and route it to the appropriate departments.
  • Handle all medical record requests with the required documentation and ensure completion.
  • Participate in the processing of edit reports from the patient management system.
  • Cross-train in various departments as required by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

For positions involving direct patient interaction, employees must acquire and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care as defined by the department's patient demographics. Competency in understanding patient needs, growth and development, and the range of treatments required is essential.

All employees must demonstrate ongoing competency through initial orientation and continuous validation to perform assigned tasks and additional responsibilities as outlined in the job description.

Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Experience

Minimum of 6 months related experience required.
