Patient Registration Specialist

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will facilitate patient registration, charge entry, discharge processes, and point of service (POS) collections at our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients, clearly explaining payment policies and insurance coverage before registration. Collect necessary insurance and demographic information while ensuring the safety of patients in distress by referring them to medical staff.
- Manage the discharge process for patients, accurately documenting and entering all charges and payments while maintaining comprehensive medical records and financial data in accordance with POS collection policies.
- Schedule appointments, send new patient information packets, and ensure the accuracy of the appointment schedule, including handling cancellations and no-shows.
- Compile daily summaries of payments, charges, balances, and claim edits.
- Handle all incoming calls to the facility, providing information and forwarding calls as necessary.
- Support clinical staff with clerical tasks and other duties related to patient preparation.
- Oversee daily transaction deposits and maintain organized medical records.
- Assist in inventory management and ensure the office is stocked with necessary supplies for efficient operations.
- Process incoming mail and route it to the appropriate personnel.
- Handle medical record requests with the required documentation and ensure completion.
- Assist in processing edit reports from the patient management system.
- Participate in cross-training across various departments as directed by management.
The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate assessment and care for patients of varying ages. This includes the ability to interpret patient needs, understand growth and development, and recognize the treatment requirements of our patient population.
Competency must be demonstrated through initial orientation and ongoing validation to independently perform the tasks outlined in this job description.

- Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Minimum of 6 months related experience required.

- No certification, competency, or license required.
