Position Summary: Under general oversight, this role involves significant responsibilities in conducting safety inspections and supervisory tasks of moderate complexity. The incumbent will engage in related activities as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Information Verification: Assess and confirm the approval or rejection of applications or permits.
- Ensure accurate information is provided to clients to address inquiries.
- Oversee the issuance of licenses/permits to qualified individuals and manage fee collection.
- Supervise the interpretation and coding of driver history data.
- Manage the verification and classification of convictions for distribution to relevant state and federal bodies.
- Evaluate compliance documents and applications for accuracy before data entry.
- Confirm that applications and records are thoroughly assessed for eligibility and liability.
- Act as a liaison with officials and specialists to gather information pertinent to licensing decisions.
- Oversee the retrieval of photographs for identity verification and accurate license/permit production.
- Review documentation for completeness and adherence to standards.
- Maintain office tracking systems for correspondence and follow-up actions.
- Compile data for periodic reporting.
- Approve standard responses to correspondence inquiries.
Administrative Duties:
- Develop corrective action plans for performance issues and recommend disciplinary measures as needed.
- Evaluate application information for completeness and accuracy to determine qualifications for licenses/permits.
- Establish job plans and conduct performance evaluations.
- Maintain documentation on subordinate performance for evaluation purposes.
- Prepare and submit reports and correspondence as required by management.
- Approve financial transactions and maintain records related to inventory and supplies.
- Identify discrepancies in records and determine necessary corrective actions.
- Conduct interviews with applicants for employment or promotion recommendations.
- Facilitate staff meetings and ensure effective communication.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least three years of relevant clerical or customer service experience.
