Fire Protection System Inspectors are responsible for conducting inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems and other water-based safety systems in compliance with all national and local regulations. Additionally, they provide hands-on training and mentorship to entry-level inspectors. Beyond primary duties, you will serve as a mentor, offering on-the-job training to novice fire alarm inspectors, thereby nurturing a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Why is this role vital? Our Fire Protection System Inspectors play a crucial role in a company's fire safety strategy, safeguarding lives, property, and business operations. Their work ensures compliance, reduces risks, and offers peace of mind to all property owners.

As a Fire Protection System Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting inspections, testing, and servicing of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems; backflow preventers; water tanks; fire hydrants; foam-based systems; water mist systems; and fire pumps in accordance with NFPA 25 standards.
  • Completing necessary documentation, including recommendations for deficiency repairs. Discussing identified deficiencies, solutions, and pricing with clients, and following up on corrective measures.
  • Adhering to and maintaining a structured inspection schedule, performing service and deficiency repairs on all types of fire sprinkler systems as required. Keeping thorough and accurate records of all tests conducted and completing service ticket documentation and inspection reports before departing from the client site. Generating reports using Siemens tools and uploading them to the relevant municipal websites.
  • Providing guidance to client personnel on proper operation and routine inspections; assisting with training.
  • Offering subject matter expertise to colleagues.

Your impact will be felt through these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
  • Proven ability to interpret design and construction documents.
  • Hands-on experience estimating impairments, deficiencies, and service repairs.
  • Must achieve NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems Level II or state certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted, and proficiency in using hand tools, laptops, email, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license with minimal violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continuous and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
