Administrative Assistant Position at Montessori School of Charlottesville:
We are seeking an experienced and organized individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant at our prestigious Montessori School. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our school, supporting our teachers and staff, and providing exceptional service to our students and their families.

About the Role:
This position offers a competitive salary of $18-20/hour, depending on experience, and includes benefits such as paid school holidays, additional PTO, and health benefits for those working over 25 hours/week. After 2 years of employment, an IRA contribution is also offered.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
  • Day-to-day administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls and emails, filing, data entry, and photocopying.
  • Management of staff and student files according to licensing and confidentiality standards.
  • Maintaining record-keeping documents according to licensing standards.
  • Preparing drop-in and late pick-up billing for the School Accountant.
  • Supporting inventory of supplies and communicating ordering needs to the Administrative Director.
  • Facilitating communication between caregivers, administration, and staff.
  • Maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for families and visitors.
  • Supporting staff and children in classroom and on playground as needed, especially to facilitate proper running of our late afternoon program.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Candidates must have experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting, and possess strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are also essential. A love of children and flexibility to meet school needs are required.

Estimated Annual Salary:
$37,760 - $41,600
