Albireo Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Power Systems Engineer to become part of our dynamic team. This entry-level position focuses on the crucial area of energy management systems, building automation, and control technologies.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will engage in the design, implementation, and maintenance of power monitoring systems tailored for critical infrastructure, including data centers. We value individuals who possess a strong foundation in electrical and control systems, along with a keen interest in network troubleshooting and communication protocols such as Modbus and BACnet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain electrical instrumentation for critical power applications, including meters, PLCs, and UPS systems.
  • Develop and update network diagrams and electrical distribution layouts, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Create essential project documentation, including network topology and project schedules.
  • Program and troubleshoot interfaces for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Implement and configure process network infrastructures, utilizing protocols such as Ethernet and IEC61850.
  • Collaborate with vendors and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide hands-on support during commissioning and start-up activities in various critical environments.
  • Deliver on-call support for existing clients, ensuring their systems operate smoothly.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who hold a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Relevant field experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • Quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts in networking and troubleshooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to obtain necessary certifications.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or Java.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Willingness to travel and work in diverse environments.
