Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Deploy Cloud Infrastructure: Develop and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS GovCloud and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Implement and manage SRE practices, including system reliability, monitoring, and incident response, to ensure high availability and performance of cloud services.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring smooth operation, scalability, and adherence to security best practices.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Collaborate with development teams to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, focusing on automated testing, deployment, and continuous delivery.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across all cloud infrastructure and application deployments, ensuring compliance with federal security standards, particularly within AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and application deployments, optimizing resources for cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using industry-standard tools to ensure real-time visibility into system performance and health.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with DevOps, development, and third-party vendor teams to streamline software delivery processes, maintaining comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure design, configurations, and SRE processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Security Clearance: Active Secret security clearance preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+ certification, AWS and/or GCP certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on GCP and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in developing infrastructure as code using Terraform, extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and a deep understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
