Job Summary

Apex Systems is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Phased Array Test Engineering Technician, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering, test, quality, and operations teams to ensure the successful development and integration of Phased Array Antennas in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Functional Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing, repair, and troubleshooting of phased array antenna PCBA's and electro-mechanical assemblies during environmental testing.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Assembly: Use electronic test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, microscopes, and programming tools to perform electrical and mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Technical Documentation: Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation, including PCBA schematics and layouts, to ensure accurate and efficient work processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions, and check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with manufacturing and test engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities, and work with design engineers to document failure modes, troubleshooting steps, and failure reproduction steps.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Aerospace, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace Industry Experience: Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environment.
  • Production Environment Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Programming and Schematic Capture: Experience programming and/or reading code, specifically Python and PowerShell, and experience with schematic capture and layout software.
  • ESD and Clean Room Experience: Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware, and clean room requirements.
  • Linux Environment Experience: Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Manual Testing Experience: Experience manually testing PCBAs.
  • Technical Drawing and SOP Knowledge: Demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Electrical, Optical, and Mechanical Systems Knowledge: Basic knowledge of electrical, optical, and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing, and/or satellite components.
  • Precision Measuring Instruments: Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments.
