Job Summary: The EMTF Education Coordinator is tasked with providing essential logistical and administrative support, alongside project management for the Texas Emergency Medical Task Forces (TX EMTF) statewide education, training, and exercise initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective development, facilitation, and execution of a comprehensive statewide education series aimed at maintaining uniformity in concept, mission, and training across the various components of the program.

The Coordinator will collaborate closely with direct supervisors to guarantee compliance with grant requirements for deliverables as outlined in the scope of work associated with the Statewide Education and Exercise project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement EMTF Education Program offerings, which may encompass initial and recurrent courses for EMTF Ambulance Staging Management Team, Medical Incident Support Team, and Ambulance Strike Team Leader.
  • Engage with Regional EMTF Coordinators and the EMTF State Program Management Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality training to responders within the program.
  • Work alongside state and regional subject matter experts to integrate real-world lessons learned and best practices into future curriculum updates and course offerings.
  • Assist in maintaining a matrix of trained and qualified personnel capable of responding to incidents throughout Texas.
  • Attend executive-level state meetings, such as the Governors EMS and Trauma Advisory Committee (GETAC), to provide updates on program development and implementation.

Emergency Operations: This position is subject to recall for emergency operations, which may necessitate irregular work hours and travel to various locations. Employees may be required to relocate to emergency sites under challenging conditions. Responsibilities include managing, coordinating, and implementing federal emergency planning and preparedness activities, including the development of emergency preparedness plans, procedures, risk assessments, training, exercises, and after-action reports.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A graduate of an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in Nursing, Emergency Health Science, Emergency Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Certifications: Certification as an EMT-Paramedic, Licensed Paramedic, Registered Nurse, or completion of TDEM Emergency Management Academy is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of progressive field or clinical experience in healthcare, emergency management, or public safety systems is essential.

They should demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and the capacity to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
