- Collaborate with medical professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients in diverse medical situations
- Perform technical medical duties, including immunizations, dialysis, and critical care, in accordance with established protocols
- Operate and maintain complex medical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety
- Develop and deliver in-service training on medical procedures and techniques to enhance team performance
- Administer medications under the supervision of licensed medical professionals
- Deliver medical, dental, and emergency treatment in deployed locations, adhering to established standards and guidelines
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor postoperative care, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes
- Participate in aeromedical evacuation ground or flight duties, utilizing specialized skills and knowledge to ensure patient safety and well-being
Qualifications Summary
- Minimum Education: High school diploma, GED, or 15 college semester hours, with a focus on medical sciences and healthcare
- ASVAB Score Requirements: 50 General (G), demonstrating aptitude for medical and technical skills
- Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, completion of relevant Air Force programs, certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and other requirements
Training & Education
- Basic Military Training: Comprehensive training program, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and adaptability
- Technical Training: 98 days of specialized training, focusing on medical procedures, equipment operation, and patient care
- Tech School Location: Ft Sam Houston, TX, a renowned center for medical training and education
- Status Upon Completion: Enlisted Airman with credits earned towards Practical Nursing Technology, positioning individuals for future career advancement
