Position Overview:
The Emergency Medical Task Force Education Specialist plays a vital role in providing logistical and administrative assistance, alongside project management for the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force's (TX EMTF) comprehensive education, training, and exercise initiatives.

This role is essential for the prompt creation, facilitation, and execution of a statewide educational series aimed at ensuring uniformity in concepts, missions, and training across the various components of the program.

The Education Specialist collaborates closely with direct supervisors to ensure compliance with grant requirements for deliverables, as outlined in the scope of work related to the Statewide Education and Exercise project.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate, and implement EMTF Education Program offerings, which may encompass initial and recurrent courses for EMTF Ambulance Staging Management Team, Medical Incident Support Team, and Ambulance Strike Team Leader.
2. Assess training needs identified by the EMTF State Coordinating Office in collaboration with program partners and Regional Advisory Council (RAC) leadership.
3. Work in partnership with Regional EMTF Coordinators and the EMTF State Program Management Team to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality training for responders within the program.

As part of this initiative, the Education Specialist will engage with state and regional subject matter experts from various fields to integrate real-world lessons learned and best practices into future curriculum updates and course offerings.

Additionally, the specialist will assist the EMTF State Program Management Team in maintaining a comprehensive matrix of trained and qualified personnel capable of responding to incidents throughout Texas.

The Education Specialist may be required to attend high-level state meetings, such as the Governor's EMS and Trauma Advisory Committee (GETAC) and State EMTF Program Leadership meetings, to provide updates on program development, implementation, and offerings.

This position may require on-call availability for emergency operations, which could involve irregular work hours, assignments at locations other than the primary work site, and duties beyond those specified in the official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive, with little advance notice, and may necessitate relocation to emergency sites under challenging conditions.

In this role, you will engage in emergency management activities, including managing, coordinating, and implementing federal emergency planning and preparedness initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in Nursing, Emergency Health Science, Emergency Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience will be considered.
Certification as an EMT-Paramedic, Licensed Paramedic, Registered Nurse, TDEM Emergency Management Academy graduate, or equivalent military training is required.
Training, certification, or licensure as an educator in their respective discipline, with a demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory, methodologies, and curriculum design is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:
Two years of progressive field or clinical experience in a dynamic healthcare, emergency management, or public safety environment.
One to two years of direct experience in adult education is preferred but not required.
Experience in Project Management is advantageous.

The candidate must successfully pass a criminal background check and employment drug screening.
