About the Role

The Orr Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Vice President, People and Culture to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance our organizational culture, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and drive business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and DEIB
    • Cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) that aligns with our organization's values and mission
    • Lead and manage the People and Culture department, including HR operations, talent management, and employee engagement
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive DEIB strategic plan, including metrics and monitoring to measure progress
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on DEIB-related topics and issues
  • Partnership and Strategic Contribution
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to align people and culture strategies with business objectives
    • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure integration of strategies across the organization
    • Provide strategic support to managers on talent management, performance management, and career development
    • Partner with hiring managers to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies
  • People Champion and Advocate
    • Champion talent development initiatives, including training, career pathways, and succession planning
    • Advocate for employees' well-being, growth, and engagement, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment
    • Oversee matters related to people management and talent within the organization
  • Human Resources Strategy and Oversight
    • Establish a clear vision and direction for the People and Culture Team
    • Proactively address the organization's people and culture needs, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, staff retention, and organizational development
    • Provide high-level oversight and strategic direction for a robust HR operation, ensuring HR policies and regulations are administered effectively
    • Formulate and execute HR strategies that align with business goals and objectives
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior HR role, preferably in a non-profit or higher education setting
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEIB and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
