Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative individual to join our dynamic team as Vice President. This senior leadership role involves active participation in the organization's daily operations, supporting the executive team in achieving our mission. The Vice President will play a crucial role in resource mobilization and fostering relationships with partners, donors, and community networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the leadership and executive team to ensure effective daily operations.
- Design and execute fundraising strategies and events, actively engaging in fundraising activities.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of researchers, promoting a collaborative and innovative research culture.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, policymakers, and partners to enhance the organization's influence and effectiveness.
- Take a leading role in fundraising initiatives, partnering closely with the development team to secure funding for research projects.
- Identify and pursue potential funding opportunities and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Ensure compliance with financial, HR, and administrative processes in line with legal requirements.
- Oversee resource management and budgeting, providing financial updates to the executive team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist in preparing reports for the board of directors.
- Support the president in communicating organizational performance to the board.
- Contribute to recruitment efforts for various positions as needed.
- Encourage collaboration across different units within the organization through regular communication.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a policy research or nonprofit environment.
- Strong work ethic, strategic mindset, and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Deep commitment to social justice and the role of information in fostering positive change.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
