Job Overview

Objective

The Insurance Sales Consultant position focuses on marketing, prospecting, and selling American Family Insurance products across various lines. This role is essential in fostering strong customer relationships, understanding client needs, and aligning them with suitable product and service offerings. The consultant also plays a key role in enhancing brand visibility through active participation in community and agency events.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Acquires in-depth knowledge of local market trends to identify business development opportunities across all product lines.
  • Utilizes consultative selling techniques to drive growth by selling insurance products to new clients.
  • Actively cross-sells and collaborates with agency team members to offer additional coverage to current clients.
  • Generates new business through various channels including leads, phone outreach, networking events, trade shows, and personal connections.
  • Secures new business through individual efforts and established lead generation methods.
  • Prepares quotes and applications, delivering compelling presentations to close sales effectively.
  • Adheres to underwriting guidelines and seeks guidance from the appropriate division when necessary.
  • Conducts sales and review meetings with potential and existing clients.
  • Aims to meet and exceed established sales targets.

Brand Promotion and Community Engagement

  • Builds and nurtures community relationships to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business prospects.
  • Engages in events aimed at promoting brand awareness and educating consumers about available products.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Retains existing clients by delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ensures timely completion of requested account and policy modifications.
  • Coordinates with relevant agency or business partners to resolve customer inquiries and issues.

Professional Development

  • Continuously enhances knowledge in specialized areas, including the insurance industry, products, underwriting standards, sales techniques, customer service, and relevant technology.
  • Participates in ongoing education and professional certification programs.

Qualifications

  • Must possess the necessary insurance licenses as mandated by state regulations to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance products, including Property, Casualty, and Life (Health is optional).
  • A valid driver's license is required.
