Library Services Associate – Access Management

Position Overview:

The University of North Georgia is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Library Associate to support the Access Services department at the Cumming campus. This position is essential in delivering circulation and access services to the library's diverse user base, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role involves occasional travel between campuses and may require evening and weekend availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to patrons through various channels, including in-person, phone, email, and chat.
  • Oversee the check-in and check-out processes for library materials.
  • Engage with the library marketing committee to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Organize displays for library events and promotional activities.
  • Manage the processing and oversight of materials for resource sharing.
  • Ensure the safety and security of library users and property.
  • Act as a representative of the library at campus events.
  • Participate in local committees and initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in productivity software applications.
  • Familiarity with automated systems and library management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and technology troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent college coursework.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a library or similar environment.
Compensation:

Starting salary is $15.00 per hour.
