Position Overview: The Circulation Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the circulation activities at one of our library branches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support branch-level circulation operations, ensuring efficient check-in and shelving of library materials.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor non-classified staff and volunteers involved in circulation tasks.
  • Oversee collection maintenance activities, including weeding, shifting, and displaying materials to maintain an attractive collection.
  • Act as a building supervisor, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patrons.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and information assistance to library users of all ages.

Salary and Benefits:

Annual salary of $55,348.80 with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Work Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position. The schedule includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with flexibility required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Master's in Library Science (MLIS) or Georgia Certificate of Librarianship preferred.
  • Experience in public library operations, particularly in circulation and collection support.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of literature across various genres and age groups.
  • Proven customer service skills and experience in resolving patron inquiries.
  • Proficiency in data entry and cash handling.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with various software and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand, sit, bend, and move throughout the library. Candidates must be able to lift or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
