Position Overview:

  • Responsible for managing services directed towards youth, including children and teenagers, along with their guardians.
  • Delivers readers' advisory and informational services tailored to the needs of young patrons.
  • Curates and promotes the branch's collections for youth.
  • Designs and executes engaging programs for children and teens.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, engages in community outreach, and oversees staff performance.
  • Handles circulation operations and ensures effective building management.

Compensation: $59,238.40 annually

Work Schedule: Full-time with a flexible arrangement, covering weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages circulation services specifically for youth.
  • Delivers customer service focused on the needs of children and teens.
  • Supervises Youth Specialists and volunteers, ensuring effective team performance.
  • Assumes responsibility for building oversight and performs various other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Library Science with a valid Georgia Certificate of Librarianship.
  • Experience in public library settings, particularly in youth programming.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership capabilities and a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Proficient in computer use and possesses strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in library reference services and familiarity with modern technological environments.
  • Over two years of experience in a public library context.

Important Considerations: This position requires a range of physical activities and necessitates effective communication skills and the ability to distinguish colors.
